About Preferred Home Builders
What started in 1996 as one remodel has become more than 3,000 projects across Los Angeles. Preferred Home Builders, also known as Friendly Contractor, builds kitchens, bathrooms, ADUs, additions, full custom homes, and Eaton-zone fire rebuilds. Twenty-seven years in, the same family still runs the company. The same project managers walk every site, the same crews show up Monday morning, and the phone still gets picked up by a real person. Licensed, bonded, insured. On the job five days a week.
Eaton & Palisades Rebuild
If you’re rebuilding after the Eaton or Palisades fires, you don’t need a sales pitch. You need a contractor who shows up. Our team has been in this community since 1996, and right now we’re on active rebuild sites every week, handling the permits, the plans, and the months of building it takes to make a house a home again.

Our Flagship Project
Right now in the Encino hills, we’re building a 10,500 SqFt custom home from the ground up. 7 bedrooms, 10 bathrooms, and enough kitchens to feed a small neighborhood - one main, one dirty prep, and a full outdoor. The pool sits on caissons because the terrain demanded it. The roof is 50-year presidential composition because the family deserves that peace of mind. We call it Belinda, and it’s one of the most ambitious builds in our portfolio.

Caisson-supported pool, structural framing tailored to the slope, and a 50-year composition roof with peel-and-stick waterproofing. Built to outlast the trends.
Demolition, foundation, framing, roof, stucco, and interior finishes are complete. Currently entering the tile installation phase. Weekly updates from the job site.
